Webinar: UCSD Energy Town Hall
November 7, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PST
UC San Diego is embarking on the next phase of energy systems planning and evaluating decarbonization and electrification of the campus. These efforts build upon the University of California’s newly adopted climate policy, which sets a framework and timetable for campuses to decarbonize by 90% no later than 2045 through prioritization of direct emission reductions and limiting the use of carbon offsets.
Join us to hear from a panel of speakers who will present information detailing current and upcoming energy strategies at UC San Diego. Attendees will gain insight into the important role of the advanced microgrid and energy storage systems on campus and how these systems help us to evaluate greater opportunities for greenhouse gas emission reductions through an on-going decarbonization study. Research conducted by the Center for Energy Research will demonstrate how a large battery energy storage system at UC San Diego was operated to maximize revenue from future energy utility tariffs with dynamic pricing. Additional updates will be provided on the planned SDG&E project on campus that seeks to temporarily blend hydrogen.
The town hall will conclude with a Q&A session. We welcome any questions submitted through the registration form and look forward to your attendance.
