April 28, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PDT

Building Decarbonization Coalition

European Heat Pump Market Update and Decarbonizing Europe

With Thomas Nowack, Secretary General of the European Heat Pump Association

Why you should register to attend:

  • Learn about the current and projected heat pump market conditions
  • Understand how European countries and community are attempting to address Russian gas dependency with heat pumps
  • Learn where growth in the sector in Europe will likely occur
  • Hear about the European Heat Pump Association and its activities

The European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) are reducing demand for oil and gas as a matter of national and energy security. The International Energy Agency (IEA) included the accelerated replacement of gas boilers with electric heat pumps as a critical component of their ten-point plan for the EU to reduce its reliance on Russian gas. The EU also announced its plans to accelerate electrification and “roll out 10 million heat pumps in the next five years to help European families reduce their dependence on gas and lower their energy bills.” Russian gas is used in home heating, and there are more than 76 million homes in the EU and UK with gas boilers today.

Thomas Nowack, as the Secretary General of the European Heat Pump Association, has an unparalleled view of the state of heat pumps in Europe, the role they can play in reducing gas dependency and what governments and market actors need to do to dramatically accelerate adoption.

Come for a one of the kind conversation on the current state of play in Europe with Mr. Nowack and the European Heat Pump Association.
