We’re thrilled to announce that the Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD) passed a clean air, clean energy resolution that protects our students, teachers, and school community!
What This Means
This resolution champions a fossil fuel-free district by 2035! Here’s how:
- 100% Clean Energy: By April 2025, CUSD will transition to 100% clean energy through Clean Energy Alliance’s Green Impact service.
- Switching to Electric Systems: All new buildings will be fully electric, and existing gas systems will be replaced with electric alternatives at the end of their lifecycle.
- Green Curriculum: Climate change education and green career pathways will be integrated into TK-12 curriculum by 2060.
- Electric Fleet: All gas-powered district vehicles will be replaced with electric vehicles.
